All it takes is a love of pets and a few hours of your time each week to make a difference
With the complexities of life on the rise, more people are finding themselves in difficult situations and our volunteer network is here to support pet owners during times of crises and personal hardship by sharing the care of their cherished pets.
We coordinate practical assistance, such as dog walking, pet respite care, transporting pets to veterinary appointments, and providing at-home pet care.
Our Volunteering Program aims are:

To provide services that support a compassionate alternative to rehoming, abandonment, or neglect of pets during their owner’s time of need while alleviating the worry of vulnerable pet owners, knowing their pets are safe and well-cared for.

To provide opportunities for people to enrich their lives, and the lives of others, through giving their time and expertise.

To build a volunteering community with flexible options for how people can take part to support and benefit people and our communities.

To relieve feelings of isolation and loneliness and promote social inclusion, cohesion and community resilience.

Respite Care for Cherished Pets
At Cherished Pets, we believe in the power of community to support both pets and people. Becoming a respite carer means offering a temporary, loving home to pets whose owners are facing challenging times, such as illness or hardship.
