Include a Gift in Your Will
Gifts in Wills (also known as Bequests) make an invaluable and enduring impact to Cherished Pets' people and their pets not only today, but for years to come.
The pets and people we help through our veterinary and social services are facing immediate challenges. Your generosity will support victim survivors of domestic and family violence, people experiencing homelessness, and pet owners challenged by a range of difficulties such as acute hospitalisations and unexpected crises, and older people who live independently and who may not have any support from family or friends to help care for their beloved pets. Your gift will help us plan for the future with stability and confidence, providing peace of mind for many vulnerable and marginalised people and their beloved animal companions in our community.
We believe in the importance of family (including our pets!) and community – it’s at the heart of everything that we do. After those are close to you and the charitable interests you care about are included, leaving a gift to Cherished Pets will help start your own legacy and make an enduring difference.
We welcome a confidential meeting with you to discuss how your gift can make a difference, and how we can honour your legacy.
Contact Dr Alicia (Lissi) Kennedy for a confidential conversation on 0439 094 379 or if you have any questions by email please contact Lissi directly alicia@cherishedpetcare.com.au . We are here to help so please get in touch.
How to leave a bequest.
Leaving a gift in your Will is one of the most generous decisions you can ever make.
After providing for your loved ones, you may wish to leave a gift to Cherished Pets — to assist us in making the world a kinder place for pets and their people, for generations to come.
There are several ways of giving in your Will.
A RESIDUARY BEQUEST
Is a percentage of your estate — after all your other gifts, taxes and debts have been fulfilled.
A PECUNIARY BEQUEST
Refers to nominating an exact sum of money.
A SPECIFIC BEQUEST
Involves gifting a very specific item, such as a life insurance policy, property or house or other personal effect.
Bequests of any kind are very welcome, and deeply appreciated.
When considering Cherished Pets in your Will, we recommend using the following suggested wording (which should be discussed further with your solicitor or estate planner):
"I give and bequeath to The Trustee for Cherished Pets Foundation (ABN 62 687 607 711) for the use and purpose of The Trustee for Cherished Pets Foundation (the percentage of X) OR (the sum of X dollars) free of all death duties, and the receipt of the CEO or other proper officer of Cherished Pets Foundation shall be a full and sufficient discharge to my executors for this legacy"
Of course, you may also wish to express the bequest in terms of a percentage or portion of the Estate remaining after necessary expenses.
Our details are as follows:
Legal entity: The Trustee for Cherished Pets Foundation
ABN: 62 687 607 711
Physical address: Unit 1, 65 Madeley Street, Ocean Grove VIC 3226
