Our grooming team is currently restricted and has suffered interruption over the past few months. At the moment we cannot meet the demand for our grooming service. The Calm Room is a brand new supportive space in Madeley Street which is for pet bereavement consulting, the collection of ashes, euthanasia and pet loss support. Measures have also been taken in the creation of the Calm Room to cater for the needs of neurodiverse people also.

The past year has been particularly challenging.

The requests for help that we receive vary day to day. Every pet, every human and every circumstance is unique. However, our ground-breaking and innovative Veterinary Social Work (VSW) service professionally and consistently responds to the daily enquiries and requests.

I think it’s pretty fair to say that the coronavirus pandemic has affected us all. Even our pets have been impacted too.

Shakti was rescued from an abusive home at four months of age.
I didn’t choose her, she chose me. Finding each other was the most serendipitous experience imaginable.
After hearing her story, without any thought, never having seen her I said, “I’ll have her”.
That was the beginning of 15 happy, adventurous years with my girl. The best dog anyone could wish for. She was re-christened Shakti (Indian goddess of power and strength) and she took over my life.

Going for a walk in the park, to the beach or around the block should be enjoyable for everyone. If we respect other people and animals when we are out walking, we can all enjoy our time outside.
Whether your dog is on or off leash, they should always be under your supervision. You should always be able to see your dog and call them back to you. Train your dog to come back to you when called. If you are not sure they will come back, then keep them on leash and seek the help of a qualified trainer. This will help keep your dog safe.
